Yesterday afternoon we went to Josh's company picnic at the Oil Ranch. It was a beautiful day for the picnic and we had a great time. We were talking about previous picnics on the way. The first one we went to, it was freezing cold, Josh and I had been in College Station for about a week and we arrived really early. We didn't know all the fun stuff happens later in the afternoon. The following year I was pregnant, the next year Alex was here but it was rainy, this year it was perfect!
The ranch has a petting zoo, train ride, play areas, put put golf, pony rides, face painting, a barn where smaller animals (ducklings and rabbits) stay and pens for horses and donkeys. Last year Alex loved the livestock, this year not so much. It didn't help that she was in sandals and she hated getting sand in her shoes so she walked really slow, kept saying "eeeewwwww" and wanted us to clean her feet. While we were eating, the train came by and Alex got sooo excited. She pointed and said choo choo over and over. As it pulled away, she waved bye bye and blew it kisses. After we ate, we took her on a ride. It was pretty short, but went through a pasture with cows, horses and a longhorn. Alex loved it!
