We had our first swim lesson of the summer today. Alex LOVED swim lessons last year so I was soo excited for them to start. Last year we did evening lessons so Josh and I took turns getting in the pool with Alex. This year, we signed up for a day class so it's just the 2 of us. Alex was soo excited when we got to the pool and had a hard time sitting on our towel until the class started. When it was finally our turn, I let her sit on the ledge while I hopped in. As soon as I turned around, she leaned in because she was ready to get in. Then it happened...she noticed the water toys. From that point on, she was obsessed. She pushed away from me as much as she could to try to get to the basket of toys. I almost lost my top several times and she tried climbing up my body so her foot kept pushing my swim suit bottoms down a little. Not fun. I got tired of fighting with her so I let her out of the pool and she stood at the basket throwing toys in for me to fetch. She ended up getting back in the pool for a few minutes but not long. The instructor said she'd hide the toys tomorrow so hopefully we have better luck. Once the instructor moved the toys she was fine and ready to get back in the pool. Too bad class was over. I am crossing my fingers tomorrow goes better.
